Established in 2021, SETLabs Research GmbH initiates and researches innovations in the context of domain-open, complex and sustainable systems that are characterized by a high degree of networking, autonomy or adaptivity.
In these kinds of systems, innovations are typically enabled by the skillful and intelligent interaction of software and simulation, as well as the specific HW/SW integration. The resulting application-oriented solutions are used in the automotive or railway sector and are transferred to robotics, logistics, energy and healthcare.

Besides his role at SETLabs, Gerhard Zrim is part of the management team at VIRTUAL VEHICLE. He brings over 20 years of experience in management, finance and organizational development in the R&D sector.

As a 100% subsidiary of Virtual Vehicle Research GmbH, we are part of a renowned research center that specializes in the automotive and rail industry. Based in Graz, Austria, our parent company is the leading Competence Centers for Excellent Technologies (COMET), attracting some of the brightest minds in the field.
With a team of over 300 researchers and a vast network of top vehicle manufacturers and system developers, VIRTUAL VEHICLE has made it their mission to revolutionize the way vehicles are developed. Through consistent virtualization, they have opened new possibilities for innovation and optimization.
Here at SETLabs, we continue to work in close collaboration with our Austrian parent company. By combining our extensive knowledge and expertise, we are able to tackle joint projects with unparalleled efficiency and precision. While VIRTUAL VEHICLE places more emphasis on co-simulation and vehicle-oriented development, SETLabs takes a software perspective, focusing on systems of systems and domain-open solutions.
